After serving as a Volunteer Assistant at Life University from 2015-2017, Flavin has now served as the Women’s Wrestling Head Coach since the 2017-18 school year.
Since taking over the program, Flavin has produced seven National Champions, 59 All-Americans, 49 NWCA Scholar All-Americans, four Olympic Team Trials Qualifiers, 11 World Team Trials Qualifiers, and one World Team Member (Victoria Francis).
In addition to individual awards, the women’s wrestling program has been named the NWCA National Champions (2022,2024, & 2025), MSC Regular Season Champions (2022, 2023, 2024, & 2025), 2025 NAIA National Tournament Champions, the NAIA National Invitational Runner-Ups (2021), the WCWA National Runner-Ups (2020) and the MSC Tournament Champions (2019) under Flavin’s leadership.
In 2021, Flavin was named the Captain’s Cup Honorary Coach of the year and was the first woman to win the NWCA Coach of the Year. In 2021 Flavin cemented her name in history books by being named the first woman to lead a collegiate wrestling team to a national title of any kind.
Prior to a decorated coaching career, Flavin was World Team Member at the Beach World Games in 2019, earning 8th place. A US Open Bronze Medalist and World Team Trials Qualifier in 2011. A 2008 Olympic Team Trials Qualifier, 2008 US Open Bronze Medalist, 2008 NWCA National Duals Outstanding Wrestler, 2007 WCWA National Runner-Up (For Oklahoma City University) and a 2007 Senior Pan American Bronze Medalist. Additionally, in 2007, Flavin qualified the United States in the 72kg weight class for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In 2005 and 2007 Flavin was named a University National Champion. In addition to a University National Champion in 2005, Flavin also named a National Team Member.
A graduate of Lake Worth High School, Flavin was named the Florida State Champion and Outstanding Wrestler in 2001. She previously served 5 years as a Resident Athlete at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs before beginning her coaching career at Life University.
A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Flavin earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Oklahoma City University and a master’s of Public Health, Epidemiology (Infectious Disease) from the University of Oklahoma.
