Life U Defeats Mystic River RFC 67-25

MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University men's rugby defeated Mystic River Rugby Clun 67-25 on Saturday.

"Today was a good win for our Elite Training Group, after a tough loss against Glendale Merlins last week," said Assistant Coach
Blake Bradford. "We wanted an improved performance on attack, and we did just that today. Our defense wasn't as good as last week, but we will look for an improved performance going into a tough road game against New York Old Blue."

Mitch Wilson led the way for Life U scoring 28 points off of two tries, eight conversions and a penalty kick. Seven other Running Eagles scored in the win, with
Zander Van Schalkwyk also logging two tries. Sean Couglan, Matthew Harmon,
Daemon Torres, Luke Schlotman,
Alex Maughan and
Brian Muntanga all scored one try apiece.

Life U look dominant in the first half as they held a 38-18 lead going into the half. They continued to roll in the second as they ran out to a 67-18 lead at one point. Mystic River would score one final try and conversion late in the match to end the game at 67-25.

The Running Eagles will be back in action on Oct. 28 as they travel to New York to face off against New York Old Blue.
