Running Eagles Junior Varsity Downs SIRC All-Stars 55-10

MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University women's rugby's junior varsity side defeated the SIRC All-Stars 55-10 on Sunday.
"We had a strong showing against a scrappy SIRC team," Assistant Coach
Laura Miller said. "First year Jesah Haun used her strong, 'go forward' motor to score four tries and two conversions on the day."
Jesah Haun paced the squad with four tries and two conversions. Five other Running Eagles scored tries as well.
Sydnee Cervinski got things rolling for Life U early with a try seven minutes into the match. Haun scored her first two tries back to back at 14' and 23' to give the Running Eagles a commanding 21-0 lead. She dotted her third try down and made the conversion to give Life U a 28-5 lead going into the half.
In the final period, JaVonii Mae Merritt found the try zone three minutes into the half to take a 33-5 lead.
Lekia Haynes found it just two minutes later at 51'. Haun scored her final try of the day at 55' to give the Running Eagles a 43-5 lead. Jade M. Garcia got on the score sheet with a try at 62', with Haun making the conversion.
Madison Ohmann put Life U up 55-5 with a try at 70'. They eventually took the win 55-10.
The win concludes the fall season for the junior varsity side.
