No. 12 Men's Wrestling Finishes Strong in Opening Weekend

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 12 nationally ranked Life University men's wrestling team started the 2018-19 season on the road last week with a 34-10 victory over Truett McConnell. The team then traveled 18 individuals to compete in the Patriot Open on Saturday.
In the dual with Truett McConnell,
Stephen Moreno earned an 11-4 decision at the 125 weight class.
Robby Earick earned a 9-4 decision at 141, while
Nosomy Pozo earned a pin at 165. Luke Viegel and Lucius Van Rensburg also pinned their opponents. Alex Bordeau earned a major decision, 14-3, at 197 as
Jimsher Sidhu finished things with a pin in the 285 class.Â
The Patriot open featured second place finishes from
DeVaughn Sapien and
Sidney Ohl as Sidhu and Ozzie Ley earned third. Below are the final match counts for each of the wrestlers that competed:Â
