Women's Rugby Dominates, Moves on to National Semi-Finals

Marietta, GA – On a rainy day that honored six seniors who played their last game at Lupo Family Field, Life University ran away with a 100-0 win over University of Central Florida. They advance to play Penn State in the USA Rugby D1 Elite national semi-final May 4
th in Fullerton, CA.
Senior
Darian Lovelace dove into the try zone to open up the match and fellow senior
Madison Ohmann followed with a successful conversion to put the Running Eagles up 7-0. Shortly after, a UCF kick was blocked and senior
N'Keiah Butler touched it down for 5 more points.
At the 25 minute mark, Butler scored again on a breakaway run, and a successful conversion by
Whitney Wilson put Life U up 19-0. The scoring continued as
Megan Rom,
Sydnee Cervinski,
Taylor Makowski, Mallery Billingy, Ohmann, and
Whitney Wilson all found the try zone. The Running Eagle defense also held strong, sealing a halftime score of 57-0.
The second half picked up with a Taylor VanHoosier try and Wilson followed up with another good conversion.
Jocelyn Jones,
Taylor Makowski, Alexandria Sedrick, Catalini Holani, Bergamin,Ohmann, and
Ciara Lambert also finished with tries. Head Coach,
Rosalind Chou, remarked on the day "We couldn't have asked for a better way for our six seniors to wrap up their careers at Life University. The team worked together all weekend and showed some great pace on both attack and defense. We have some areas to target as we prepare for Final Four and will address them in the next week-and-a-half."
