Attack Rolls as Life U Women Move on to Quarterfinals

Marietta, GA – Women's Rugby made a statement in their first round 133-0 win over The University of Pittsburgh Saturday at Lupo Family Field. They advance to the quarterfinals against Central Florida, which will be played at home Sunday, April 22
nd at 12:30pm.
Alexandria Sedrick opened up the scoring for Life U early and the conversion was good by
Whitney Wilson. Soon after,
Taylor Makowski,
Megan Rom, and Sedrick found the try zone, pushing the score to 24-0. Makowski followed up with a try in minute 18, followed by another conversion by
Whitney Wilson.
Sydnee Cervinski added her name to the scoring list with a beautiful try on the wing, making the score 36-0.
Life U kept up the scoring in the first half with tries from
Madison Ohmann (2) and
Megan Rom. Life University went into the half up 71-0.
Karen Faget and
N'Keiah Butler opened up the second half with tries extending the Life U lead.
Ana Fanning,
Malery Billingy,
Jocelyn Jones added their names to the scoring line as the Running Eagles closed out the game 133-0.
In Sunday's quarterfinal, seniors
Gabriela Bergamin,
Kaitlyn Broughton,
N'Keiah Butler,
Madison Ohmann,
Darian Lovelace, and
Tayler VanHoosier will be playing their final matches at Lupo Family Field. Head Coach
Rosalind Chou was happy with the performance, "It was great to see the team keep the pace up throughout the entirety of the match. Our subs off the bench lifted the team up when they stepped on the field. Now we have to win the recovery and prepare for a very physical UCF team."
The winner of the quarterfinal match will travel to the USA Rugby D1 Elite final four May 4
th & 5
th in Fullerton, CA.
