Women's Rugby /
Glendale, Colo. ---- The Life University Women's Rugby team finished the opening day of pool play a perfect 3-0 at the USA Rugby College 7s National Championships. The Running Eagles did not drop a match in Pool B of the D1 Elite Bracket.

Life started off the day with an early victory over Harvard 28-5. A tough battle with Davenport early in the afternoon saw the Running Eagles take a 29-14 win. In the nightcap, Life defeated Army 20-5 to secure a spot in the championship semifinals to be played tomorrow.

"The women continued to progress as the day went on, and were able to make the proper adjustments in the areas we identified in need of improvement. The most important time is now for us to get our proper recovery. We are so lucky to have two alumni giving us care," head coach Rosalind Chou stated. "Hannah McFadden, one of the first Life University Women's Rugby graduates is taking care of our soft tissue needs, and Dr. Greg Mortimer, class of '91, has been here with us giving us immediate chiropractic care. Additionally, the women are tuned in and know we have a familiar opponent in Lindenwood, and that it will be a fight to the finish. We hope to just continue to compete with our style of play and continue to improve as a team."

The Running Eagles will face Lindenwood University in the D1 Elite semifinals tomorrow, May 20, at 12:20 p.m. MST/ 2:20 p.m. EST. All games will be broadcasted on The Rugby Channel and FloRugby.
