Philadelphia ---- The Life University Men's Rugby Team finished 3-0 in Pool Play of the 2018 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championships.

The Running Eagles started out with an early morning matchup with Penn State in which the men earned a 27-0 victory inside Talen Energy Stadium. In game two on Field One, the men earned another shutout victory 34-0 over Air Force. After a nearly five hour wait, the men finished the day with a 38-5 win over Notre Dame.

Life University finished as the number one overall seed coming out of pool play, after giving up just five points in the three matches for a 94 point differential.

"The men came out and started off the day really well this morning against Penn State. They stayed in their system even though Penn State played some really great defense, and then things eventually started opening up for us," head coach Colton Cariage stated. "I was most happy with the way we started day one and set the tone. We knew Penn State was also a favorite to finish well in the pool. After that, we tried different combinations out and the men were focused on little details and improving. Ultimately, we made it through the day healthy and that's really important with everyone sharing the minutes which will really help us moving forward to tomorrow."

The men will matchup with Penn State again in the quarterfinals at 11:11 AM EST that will air on ESPN 2. Follow along on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for updates throughout the tournament.
