MONTREAT, N.C. ---- The Life University women's soccer team split a pair of games at the Montreat Labor Day Classic over the weekend to improve to 2-2 on the year. Both contests were decided by one goal, and both matches featured a goal in the second half.

On Saturday, the women fell to Truett McConnell College 1-0 with the winning goal coming in the 88th minute. Keeper Sydney Young picked up ten saves in the match, however the late winner from the Bears dropped the Running Eagles to 1-2 on the year. Katelynn Harbeke led the way for the offensive with three total shots as Elin Josefsson put the only shot on frame.

Bouncing back for a match Monday against West Virginia Tech, Life U picked up the 1-0 victory to split the weekend in North Carolina. Josie Davis provided the heroics with the go-ahead goal in the 58th minute of play. Both keepers saw time in goal, as Julia Bernhardt picked up the win with four saves. Offensively, Davis had a match-high six shots with two being on frame.

After five days of recovery, the women's soccer team will return to action on Saturday, September 7, when they host Brewton-Parker College under the lights at Lupo Family Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 PM.
