MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 4 nationally ranked Life University women's wrestling team came from behind in the final match of the dual to defeat Emmanuel College 23-22 Wednesday night.

In true comeback fashion, the Running Eagles overcame the odds down 15 with four weight classes remaining to earn the home victory.

Emmanuel took an early 5-0 lead with a forfeit at 101 as Katalina Bartelt held strong at 109 to earn the 7-0 decision. Life U fell at 116, 123 and 130, however the Running Eagle still earned one team point each match by scoring in the bought.

Emmanuel earned the pin at 136 to lead 21-6 with four matches remaining. Erica Sotelo earned the 13-2 decision at 143 and Destinee River held her opponent scoreless in the 6-0 decision. A forfeit at 170 gave Life U five more points to bring the score to 22-18 in favor of the visiting Lions.

Gabrielle Hamilton took the mat at 191 and needed a win via pin fall to give the Running Eagles the victory. A technical fall would've tied the dual at 22, where Emmanuel would have won on criteria. With 36 seconds remaining in the first period, Hamilton used an inside trip to take her opponent down and earn the pin seconds later. Life U took the dual win 23-22 to improve to 8-1 on the year in duals.
