No. 3 Men's Wrestling Falls to Cumberland on Senior Night

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 3 nationally ranked Life University men's wrestling team fell at home Wednesday night 30-15 to Cumberland University in Mid-South Conference action. The 2019 senior class was recognized before the start of the dual.
Seniors
Jacob Cook, Lucius Van Rensburg,
Nosomy Pozo,
Dylan Evans,
Mason Calvert,
Yakariel Judah and
Brandon Hill were recognized for their contributions to the program and their individual accomplishments.
To start the dual,
Stephen Moreno defeated Blaine Fussell with a pin 52 seconds into the first round for an early 6-0 Life U lead. The Running Eagles fell at 133, 141 and 149 as Cumberland led 12-6.
At 157, Pozo came in clutch for the Running Eagles with a pin at 2:56 on the clock to tie the dual at 12. Life U however struggled in the late matches of the dual as the Running Eagles did not earn another win until a 5-4 decision by Hill at 285. Cumberland won the dual by a final of 30-15.
The men's wrestling team finish the regular season in second place, and will return to action on Saturday, February 16, as they travel to Bowling Green, Ky. to compete in the Mid-South Conference Championships.
