No. 2 Men's Rugby Finishes Regular Season Undefeated

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 2 nationally ranked Life University men's rugby team defeated No. 9 Penn State University 53-24 at home Saturday afternoon to finish the season undefeated.

The Nittany Lions jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after a try and a penalty kick in the first five minutes. Life U responded with a try in the tenth minute as
Justin Johnson dove across with a successful conversion from
Duncan Van Schalkwyk.
Mitchell Wilson connected with
Connor Mooneyham six minutes later with another successful conversion to lead 14-10.
Harley Wheeler scored a pair of tries as Van Schalkwyk scored one to put the Running Eagles ahead 31-10 at the half.
Daemon Torres touched down the first try of the second half for Life U as Penn State responded with a try in the 55th minute. The Running Eagles led 43-17 after a steal from
Brian Muntanga, who scored down the sidelines. Penn State added its final try of the match in the 71st minute, however Wilson was able to score late with a penalty kick from Matthew Marrowicz to give the Running Eagles the 53-24 victory to end the season.
