No. 1 Women's Wrestling Drops Road Dual to No. 2 Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. ---- The No. 1 nationally ranked Life University women's wrestling team took a hard road Mid-South Conference loss to No. 2 Campbellsville 33-13 Wednesday night.
Life U (13-3) jumped out to an early 3-1 lead with one of its three individual match wins. No. 4
Faye Cherrier won 8-2 over No. 7 Bacich at 101 to begin the dual.
Campbellsville (9-1) earned bonus points with the next two matches on a pin and a forfeit to take an 11-3 lead.
Julia Vidallon turned things around in the second period to earn the 8-4 decision at 123 to give the Running Eagles three key points.
Campbellsville responded with the pin at 130 before
Alex Enriquez answered the call with a pin of her own at 136 lbs. in 2:41. After the first six weight classes, Life U trailed 17-11.
Life U was unable to pick up a win the remainder of the dual as Campbellsville went on to win 33-13.
The women's wrestling team will return to action on February 7-8 when they play host to the WCWA Nationals at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta, Ga. More information will be released in the coming week.
