MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The women's basketball team fell behind early and never managed to bridge the gap between themselves and (RV) University of the Cumberlands today in Mid-South action in the Eagle's Nest.
NOTES
• Life U falls to 2-4 (0-3) on the year, while Cumberlands (Ky.) improved to 6-0 (2-0).
• Despite the performance, the Running Eagles did a great job on converting on chances from the charity stripe, making 25 of their 32 attempts for a season-best free throw percentage (78.1%)
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Sydni Tears put together a standout performance, leading all players with 22 points scored in her 37 minutes on the court. The senior further filled in the stat line with seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Amara Edeh was the only other Running Eagle to break into double-digit scoring with 11 points to go with her two boards and steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Patriots put the first points on the board, taking a lead that would never be relinquished. With 3:37 left in the first, Tears made a pair of free throws to set the score at 9-5, but a Cumberlands (Ky.) run expanded the lead to 19-7 as the first came to a close. The second quarter saw the hole that Life U found itself in just continue to expand, the Patriots lead swelling to 22 at 43-21 as the teams went to their locker rooms.
• Life U's best offensive quarter came in the third, scoring 17, but the Patriots matched that with their best performance as well the lead hovering just below 40 points as the fourth was getting ready to start. Cumberlands (Ky.) only outscored the Running Eagles by three in the final frame of play, but the game was out of hand, ending 54-54.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 12-for-53 from the field, 22.6%, while the Patriots shot 37-for-83, 44.6%. The Running Eagles finished 5-for-20 (25%) from beyond the arc, as Cumberlands (Ky.) went 7-for-24 (29.2%).
• Life U forced 32 turnovers in the game, scoring 8 points off of the chances, but gave the Patriots the ball 40 times which led to 42 points.
