LAKE WALES, Fla. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team fell 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Warner University in the team's first Mid-South Conference loss of the season.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 8-5 (5-1) on the year as Warner improved to 9-2 (6-0).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Zach Ludlam was the only Running Eagle to finish in double digits with 10 kills.
•
Allain Larroche totaled 28 assists during the match with five digs and a kill.
•
Alex Cabana and
Sebastian Obrador each picked up three block assists in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U led 10-8 in set one after a kill from Negron. The Royals responded with an 11-1 run to take a commanding 19-11 lead. Warner finished the first set on a 3-1 run to earn the 25-16 win.
• Life U again led early 5-1 in set two after a block from Cabana and Obrador. Warner kept the set close until a 5-1 run was finished with an ace from Perez to give the Running Eagles a 13-9 advantage. Life U found itself on set point, 24-21, and Cabana found the final kill to tie the match with a 25-23 set win.
• Life U led 10-7 early in the third set, but a 6-2 Warner run gave the Royals a 13-12 lead. Warner extended its lead to 22-18 before a 6-1 run put Life U on set point 24-23. Warner finished the set on a 3-0 run that included a pair of errors to win 26-24.
• Warner led early in the fourth set and extended the lead to 20-11 after a service ace. The Royals finished the match on a 5-1 run to win 25-14 and take the MSC matchup three games to one.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Warner led Life U in kills 56-34. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .115 as Warner finished with a .364.
• Warner led Life U in blocks 9-6, but the Running Eagles held a 30-28 advantage in digs over the Royals.
• Webber committed 17 attacking errors as Life U finished with 23.
