Men's Club Rugby /
ATLANTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's club rugby team earned another bonus point win Saturday afternoon against NYAC in a key ARP matchup 47-15.

Life U and NYAC sit atop the American Rugby Premiership, and the win brings Life U within striking distance of winning the league.

NYAC struck first in the 14th minute with a try, however five minutes later Jeremy Misailegalu answered with a try of his own to tie the game. Two minutes later Sean Coughlan was able to break through as Sam Cowley added the conversion to put the Running Eagles ahead 12-5. Amro Gouda secured a try in the 32nd minute as Cowley added the conversion. Five minutes before the half, a try from Austin White and conversion from Cowley gave Life U a 26-5 lead heading into the break.

Right after the half, Misailegalu scored his second try of the afternoon with another successful conversion from Cowley. NYAC scored its second try of the match in the 57th minute to bring the score to 33-10. Cowley scored one for himself in the 72nd minute and added his own conversion before Duncan Van Schalkwyk added a try four minutes later with another conversion. Cowley finished the match with six conversions made. NYAC added a try at the final whistle for the final score of 47-15.

Head coach Blake Bradford shared his thoughts afterwards stating, "We had a bit of a slow start in some wet conditions, but I'm proud of how the men stuck to the plan and kept fighting. We have some things to clean up in our line out, but our scrums went very well and we were able to apply pressure through that part of our set piece. As always we look forward to improving another 10% going into our last game of the ARP."

He continued, "With so many disruptions to our training week this past week and the entire fall season, I'm proud of the grits and resiliency the men has shown throughout."

The men's club rugby team will conclude the season on Saturday, November 6, when they travel to face White Plains at 1 PM.
