Women's Rugby NCR Squad Dominate NCR Division 1 South Regional

DANVILLE, Va. ---- The Life University women's rugby NCR team dominated its way to the National Collegiate Rugby Division 1 South Regional Championship over the weekend to qualify for the National Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. on December 4-5. The Running Eagles outscored their two opponents 111-0 to advance in the tournament.
The No. 5 ranked women's rugby team started the weekend with a 56-0 victory over No. 12 Syracuse on Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals.
Sarah Barsoum finished the match on a hat trick with three tries as did
Lyric Greenhill-Casados.
Angelina Mason added three conversions with a penalty kick and a try of her own in the match. The full scoring breakdown can be found below:

The Running Eagles returned to the field on Sunday, as they matched up with No. 15 Clemson in the quarterfinals, where the offense returned to its form in a 55-0 victory to send the team to Knoxville. Barsoum continued her outstanding weekend with a pair of tries as Mason took over the offensive effort with four conversions, two penalty kicks, a drop goal and a try for 25 of the teams points.

Rosalind Chou stated her thoughts on the match afterwards stating, "We are so proud of the squad for two shut outs and two debutantes this weekend. This group started to really gel and show intensity and chemistry on the field. Captains
Emma Fredlund-Adams and Hanna Boekelman stood out, and showed immense leadership with this young group."
The women's rugby NCR squad will await their opponent in the semifinals in Knoxville on December 4 with the winner playing in the national championship the following day.
