No. 2 Men's Wrestling Dominant in Home-Opening 54-0 Win over (RV) Truett McConnell

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 2 nationally ranked Life University men's wrestling team earned the 54-0 dominant showing in the team's home-opener against (RV) Truett McConnell Thursday night.
The Running Eagles won every match with bonus points except for one during the dual.
Chase Ayers started the match at 125 lbs. and earned the win via pinfall in 2:12.
Hunter Sparks didn't make it out of the first period as well with a fall in 1:44 at 133 lbs.
Jordan Mitchell picked up the pin at 4:15 at 141 lbs to put the Running Eagles ahead 18-0 through the first three weight classes.
Yarhoski Aldiva faced the No. 16 ranked wrestler in the country at 149 lbs. and earned the pin in 1:20. No. 2 nationally ranked
Denver Stonecheck earned the pin in 3:51 at 157 lbs. as
Cole Drescher earned the 11-2 major decision at 165 lbs.
Mason McDaniel earned five more bonus points with the 17-2 technical fall in 6:35 to put the Running Eagles up 39-0.
Michael Gibson fell just short of bonus points with a 10-3 decision at 184 lbs. as No. 2 nationally ranked
Zane Lanham earned his third pin of the week at 197 lbs. in 1:51.
J.J. Perez took the forfeit at heavyweight to give the Running Eagles the 54-0 home win.

The men's wrestling team will return to action on Sunday, November 7, when they travel to Williamsburg, Ky. to compete in the Patriot Open hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.
