MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's rugby team won its second match in a row Saturday afternoon with a 32-10 comeback win over Queens University on senior day.

Before the match, seniors Tendai Rioga, Chase Schor-Haskin, Filippo Parasmo, George Phelan, Adrian Escobedo, Nikey Roberts and Keagan Sparks were honored and recognized for their contributions to the program.

As the match settled in, Tabonga Ngonyamo scored the first points with a penalty to give Life U a 3-0 lead. Queens connected on its second penalty of the match to tie the score at three. Queens added a try and conversion to take a 10-3 lead into the half.

The second half was dominated by Life U as Phelan added a try four minutes in. Donovan Law was able to dot down the try as Ngonyamo added his first conversion of the match in the 57th minute. A minute later Lenzsch kept up the offensive pressure with a try and successful conversion put Life U ahead 22-10. Phelan added his second try of the match four minutes later as the Running Eagles led 27-10. Schor-Haskin scored the final try in extra time as the Running Eagles earned the 32-10 victory at home.

"Firstly, hats off to the seniors," head coach Colton Cariaga. "It was their weekend and their leadership shone through, particularly in the second half effort. Also, fair play to Queens' program. They were ready to play and we knew they would be. As for us, we saw some good flashes of Life U Rugby in the latter part of the match, inspired by the likes of veterans George Phelan and Filippo Parasmo, but also impact substitutes Tyler Goosen and Donovan Law. These guys really gave us a much needed spark. Overall, there is plenty of room for growth and we look forward to a great week of prepartion this week coming."

The men's rugby team will return to 15s action on Saturday, April 3, as they welcome Davenport University to Lupo Family Field at 12 PM.
