KENNESAW, Ga. --- The Life University Men's Club Rugby team kicked its season off in style this afternoon, taking control of the game in the second half and running away with it as the team won 44-15 in a home game played on the campus of Kennesaw State.
Â
Deacon posted the first Life U score to put the team up 5-0 early, but Mystic River followed that up with a lengthy penalty kick to cut the score to 5-3. With the game still in the balance, Cowley recorded his first penalty kick to put the team up by a try, and with the first half coming to a close Reese dotted down a try on a breakaway run to see the team enter the break with a 15-3 edge.

The Running Eagles found the try line often in the second half, but the period started with Cowley's second penalty kick conversion of the day. Life U continued to pull away as in quick succession White and Cowley scored tries in just a couple minute span to put the game out of reach at 32-3. Mystic River tried to get back into the game by earning a try of their own, but the Running Eagles followed it up with another score to keep the advantage the same at 37-8. With the game in its final 10 minutes, Mystic River again found the try line, but a couple minutes later as time was expiring Reese fought his way through for a try to give the final score of 44-15.
