No. 18 Women's Volleyball Stun No. 13 Lindsey Wilson in 3-1 Upset Win

COLUMBIA, Ky. ---- For just the second time in program history, the No. 18 Life University women's volleyball team upset No. 13 Lindsey Wilson on the road Thursday night.

The Blue Raiders have dominated the series, however the Running Eagles earned their most dominant victory in the series between the two with a 3-1 victory. After falling in the first set 25-22, Life U stormed back with back-to-back 25-18 wins in the second and third set. Down 24-23 in the fourth set, a kill from Lena Pucnik and a pair of service aces from freshman Chloe Teter sealed the 26-24 set win for the match.

Lindsey Wilson held the statistical edge in blocks and digs, however Life U earned the win with strong offensive performances. The Running Eagles finished with 60 kills and a .316 hitting percentage as a team, while the Blue Raiders totaled 51 kills with a .272 hitting percentage. Life U led 13-6 in service aces and 60-50 in assists.

Individually, Fayola Louis led the Life U attack with 17 kills and just two errors on 29 swings for a .517 hitting percentage. Pucnik added 17 kills with two service aces and nine digs as Jessie Prichard picked up 55 assists and nine digs. Madison Evans also finished in double figures with 16 kills as Marin Black totaled 10 digs and a pair of service aces. Savannah Keener added two service aces with six digs as Teter led the match with six service aces.

The Running Eagles will take a short break before returning to Mid-South Conference play on Thursday, September 30, as they host the University of Tennessee Southern at the A5 Sportsplex in Alpharetta, Ga. at 6 PM.
