Club Rugby Dominates Rugby ATL Academy 45-10

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's club rugby team advanced to 4-0 with a commanding performance against local rival Rugby ATL Academy 45-10.
This match started off much like last for Life U, as Chris Rossouw started the scoring early with a try to put the Running Eagles up 7-0 inside the fourth minute. RATL Academy converted a penalty just two minutes later to make it 7-3. Just over two minutes later, Rossouw added another try off an advantageous opportunity created by
Jacques Odendaal, who also added a conversion to put Life up 14-3. This was the beginning of a dominant stretch for Life U, as
Fred Henry-Ajudua scored back to back tries, once in the 24th minute and once in the 30th.
The second half was more of the same, as Russouw continued his impressive season by capping off a hat trick in the 64th minute. After a score by
Sean Coughlan put Life U up 38-3 in the 69th minute, Henry-Ajudua earned a hat trick of his own, which was followed by an Odendaal conversion to stretch the lead to 45-3. RATL Academy scored their first and only try with a few minutes left to make the score 45-10 before the final whistle.
With the victory, Life U remains atop the ARP standings with two matches remaining.The men's club rugby team will return to action on Saturday, October 8, as they welcome Rugby HTX to Lupo Family Field at 1 PM.
