Women's Swimming and Diving /
MARIETTA, Ga. --- The Running Eagles' swimming program got its season rolling this past weekend in a meet against NCAA opponent, Sewanee University, the men just barely losing the match via a score of 113-110, while the women fell 168-110 Saturday at the Cobb Aquatic Center.

The women's score came despite placing first in seven out of 16 events, including a win by the medley relay team of Dora Reizenger, Lillian Thurber, Victoria Acosta, and Nathalia Bento. Reizinger led the way for the team, taking first in the 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM, earning national consideration cuts in all three events. Other first place finishers inccluded, Acosta in the 100 fly, Thurber in the 100 breast, and Bento in both the 50 and 100 free. Bento's 50 free time also made the consideration national cut. Freshman Seema Chavis also had a good day, placing second in the 200 and 500 free.

On the men's side, the team recorded a first place finish in nine out of 16 events.  The Medley Relay team of Bence Dort, Bence Merezs, Anton Smal and Lucas Payan earned the team an important first.  Smal picked back up where he left off last year, taking first place in three events, while making the national consideration in the 200 IM and 200 Back. Merersz place first in the 100 and 200 breast making the national consideration times in both events. The freshman also made the national consideration time in the 200 IM, setting a new team record in the 50 breaststroke (the split of his first 50 of the 100 breast). Dort also picked up a couple firsts, finishing in the top spot in the 100 fly and 500 free. Senior captain, Payan rounded things out with a first place finish in the 50 free.

The next meet meet for the Running Eagles will be on the road, the teams traveling to Tennessee for the Sewanee Invite on October 28th and 29th.
