MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's club rugby team will compete in the American Rugby Premiership title game this weekend, facing the New York Athletic Club.

The Running Eagles will host NYAC on Saturday with hopes of claiming the ARP title for the second, consecutive year. This year will be the first year ARP has expanded into a conference-divided league, with Life University's men's club rugby team representing the South Division while NYAC represents the North Division for the 2022 Championship.

Entering the title game, the Running Eagles have an impressive 6-0 record with a flawless 4-0 record at home. The men have outscored their opponents 222-102 during the season for a 120 points differential. The team's narrowest margins of victory were the team's season-opener against NOLA and a 28-25 come from behind win over HTX on October 8th.

Dominant wins over Atlanta 404 and HTX (Sep. 17th) helped propel the Running Eagles forward as the favorite to host the ARP Championship game.

The Running Eagles opponent, the New York Athletic Club, was established in 1973 and is no stranger to championships.  Hoisting trophies in 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2015, NYAC enters the title game representing the North Division with a record of 2-2 after besting White Plains 42-26 in the division title game.

Ahead of Saturday's championship appearance, Head Coach Blake Bradford shared his thoughts.

"We are very excited for this weekend's ARP championship game," said Bradford. "We have a really special group of players and they have worked really hard all season long. Our preparation has gone very well this week and the guys are really dialed in for this game. We hope to see all our fans come out and support us in green!"

Kickoff at Lupo Family Field is slated for 3 PM.
