Marietta, Ga. – The Life U Men's Wrestling team held their annual Green vs. Black Intrasquad dual to kick off the 2022-2023 season Friday night inside the newly renovated Upper Gym in front of a capacity crowd. The packed weekend also stood as the Parents/Alumni Weekend, a lot of past and current Running Eagles returning to campus for that event as well as the annual 100 Minute Marathon Fundraiser.
 
Head coach Omi Acosta expressed his gratitude to everyone for making the weekend such a success. "It was a blessing to finally get on the mat and showcase our guys. First, I would like to thank God that we wrestled tough and had no injuries. Second, I am extremely grateful for the parents, fans and friends that have donated to the 100-Minute Campaign and showed their support." Looking at how the matches went and toward the rest of the season, Acosta continued, "Green vs. Black gave the guys a chance to see some areas in their game that are improving and areas we need to work on moving forward. From a coaching standpoint, we would like to see our guys be more aggressive and control our hand fighting better so we can create more scoring opportunities. We look forward to the next few Open Tournament competitions coming up, so we get to put our hands on some outside competition."
 
Life U will officially open the season on Nov. 5 at the Patriot Open in Williamsburg, KY.
