No. 2 Men's Wrestling Finish Third Straight Season Undefeated in MSC Action

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- For the third consecutive season, the No. 2 nationally ranked Life University men's wrestling program has finished the regular season with an unblemished Mid-South Conference record, after a 44-6 win at home over Keiser University Friday night.
The Running Eagles finish the regular season 6-0 in MSC play and are the MSC South Division Regular Season Champions for the second consecutive year. Life U finishes the dual season with a 17-2 overall record against NAIA Competition after the win over Keiser.
The dual started at 174 lbs. where No. 4 ranked
Asher Eichert earned the 20-5 technical fall in 6:10 for an early 5-0 lead.
Michael Gibson picked up the 9-0 major decision at 184 lbs. before
Tony Rogers earned the pin in 1:27 at 197 lbs. to put the Running Eagles ahead 15-0. Keiser won its first match of the dual at heavyweight with a 5-2 decision as
Chase Ayers earned the forfeit at 125 lbs. Halfway through the dual, Life U lead 21-3.
Hunter Sparks also earned the forfeit at 133 lbs. as Keiser won its second match of the dual with a 14-7 decision at 141 lbs. No. 4 ranked
Brevin Balmeceda responded with a win via pin fall in just 19 seconds at 149 lbs. No. 5 ranked
Jack Bass continued the momentum with a win via pin fall at 157 lbs. in 41 seconds as No. 2 ranked
Sid Ohl closed out the dual with a 19-3 technical fall in 4:46 for the final score of 44-6.Â

Omi Acosta shared his thoughts after the dual stating, "I thought the guys looked really well tonight. We made a statement and we're excited to see how great we can be at the conference championships and the national tournament."
The men's wrestling program will conclude the regular season tomorrow, when they host the Life U Round Robin inside the Upper Gym on campus at 9 AM.Â
