Men's Bowling Compete at MSC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. ---- The Life University men's bowling team competed at the Mid-South Conference Championships over the weekend, where the Running Eagles were able to place a pair of top finishers and advance to the fourth round in team play.
On the first day of competition, the Running Eagles competed in the Singles and Doubles competitions. There were 112 individuals who competed in the competition as a trio of men finished in the top 40.
Colby Hagemoser led the way for the Running Eagles, finishing 23rd with a 1,035 total pins.
Andrew Martin finished well in 30th with 1,006 total pins. Also finishing well was
Duane Jones, who took 34th with 990 total pins.
Hunter Harper came in 58th just behind them with 914 total pins as
Adarius Reese finished in the top 100 at 91st with 814 total pins.
During the team competition, the No. 10 seed Running Eagles matched up with No. 7 seed Bethel, and earned the 4-2 win. Life U came out and won the first two games 228-210 and 220-170. Bethel answered with a pair of wins 191-181 and 173-120 tying the match at two games a piece. The Running Eagles rallied in the final two games 219-185 and 227-166 to earn the win and advance in the tournament.
In round two, the Running Eagles matched up with No. 2 seed Pikeville, where the Bears earned the 4-1 match win. Facing elimination, Life U defeated No. 9 seed Shawnee State 4-1 to advance to the fourth round. After winning the first game 177-168, Shawnee State answered with a 181-143 win. Life U won the final three games 202-192, 212-148 and 223-142 to advance to the fourth round.
The tournament ended against No. 12 Cumberland, where the Phoenix earned the 4-2 win. After falling in the first two games 190-181 and 168-161, the Running Eagles bounced back with a pair of wins 183-167 and 202-163. The Phoenix rallied back in the final two games to take the match 214-204 and 245-166.
The men's bowling team will return to action on Friday, February 18, when they travel to Indianapolis for the Hoosier Classic that will last until Sunday in the final event of the season.
