Women's Rugby Sweep Savannah Tournament to Win Women's Division
Women's Rugby /
SAVANNAH, Ga. ---- The Life University women's rugby team won the women's division of the Savannah St. Patrick's Day tournament over the weekend in South Georgia.

With an extended roster, the team played in three shortened matches defeating the Raleigh Venom 19-0 and Atlanta Harlequins 24-0 on Saturday to advance to the finals. On Sunday, the squad won the championship final by a conversion, 12-10, over Detroit.

There were many great performances as head coach Rosalind Chou noted, "The squad continues to gain valuable experience with each game we play and seeing many student-athletes continue to grow and improve. The defensive effort was tremendous with two shutouts on Saturday and having to sustain long periods of defense on Sunday in a gutsy win."

Up next, the squad has a round robin of 40-minute periods with University of Florida and Kennesaw State on Saturday, March 19th at home. The first period kicks off at 11:00am at Lupo Family Field.
