KENNESAW, Ga. --- The men's and women's Life University track and field teams competed at the Don McGarey Invite on the campus of Kennesaw State this weekend, the women finishing in fifth place out of a 15 team pool, while the men claimed 10th.

On the women's side, the Running Eagles compiled 45 total points, being the second highest NAIA team on the leader board behind top-ranked Indiana Tech's second place 98 points. Host, Kennesaw State ran away with the competition, taking first with 307 team points.

The women recorded three NAIA A-Standards and a single B-Standard, eight different Running Eagles earning the team points in individual events. The team's first A-Standard came from Brianna Florvilus in the 400m dash, posting a personal best time of 55.98 to claim second place in the event and fourth nationally. Alisha Wright earned the other A-Standard, besting last week's 100m hurdle time to jump into third place nationally with a time of 13.89. The final A-Standard came in the 4x400m relay, the squad of Florvilus, Dagbjort Magnesdottir, Iantha Wright, and A. Wright placing third in both the event and nationally with a time of 3:54.64. The lone B-Standard was recorded by I. Wright, placing fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 24.92. Other track placers included: Kaylee Lowe with a 12.41 in the 100m dash for fifth, Kamryn Kimmel at seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:52.94, A. Wright at 6th in the 400m hurdles with a 1:04.80, and Briana Madison with a 14.81 in the 100m hurdles for sixth. On the field, Levonis Davis placed fifth in the shot put and eighth in discuss with distances of 12.51m and 37.01m, respectively, while Danielle Albright finished seventh in weight throw with a length of 44.48m.

On the men's side, the team trailed three NAIA schools with its 26 total team points. Similar to the women's half of the competition, Kennesaw State dominated the field, taking first with 254.50 team points.

The men earned a single A-Standard and B-Standard on the weekend, while five total Running Eagles earned team points for Life U. The A-Standard came in the 400m dash, Jacob Ulrich posting a blisteringly fast 46.56 to claim second place in the event and nationally. Marvin Jean-Francois earned the other standard, running the 110m hurdles in 14.53 seconds to place third in the event. Other point earners were: Zac Wright-Fisher with a 4:05.52 in the 1500m to place eighth, Jean-Francois at fifth in the 400m hurdles with a 55.51, Tyson Hallum placing seventh in the 400m hurdles with a 55.98, and Christian Figueroa taking fourth in the 3000m steeplechase with a 10:20.00.

The track and field teams compete again this coming weekend, traveling to Carrollton, Ga. for the UWG Legends Invite Saturday, April 2nd.
