PENN STATE, Pa. — Despite travel issues, a bus breakdown, and distant travels, the Life University women's rugby team responded in a brilliant manner, remaining focused and positive and earning commanding 71-13 win over Penn State.

Led by stand-out player Ariel Chalmers, who carried very well and executed her role effectively, the Running Eagles saw Sarah Barsoum record two tries, Adrionna Duncan earn three, Matilda Kocaj with a staggering four, while both Hattie Greenwood and

Eildh MacGilvray each pulled in a single score.

Angelina Mason was successful on eight of her eleven attempted conversions.

Head coach Ryszard Chadwick shared his thoughts on the weekend postgame, saying, "Despite a less-than-ideal travel, the group really showed a high level of grit. Upon arrival to Penn State, spirits were high which allowed us to run into a nice and relaxed but focused warm-up.

We dominated the first half with early line breaks and tries giving us a nice lead at HT 26-0, and if we were a little more accurate in our decision-making it could have been more… [In the] second half there was an instant impact from the bench as the game opened up allowing us to dominate further. There were slight moments of poor discipline which led to Penn State's scoring, but we finished high by scoring on the last play of the game." Chadwick then closed with optimism, stating, "We travel to CWU next week so all eyes now are on that game as we know it will be a much more demanding game."

With a dominant win (scrimmage) over the Harlequins and a convincing win over Penn State, the Running Eagles will travel to Ellensburg, Washington to face Central Washington at 3 pm et.
