PULASKI, Tenn. --- The Life University cross country teams competed in their final race of the regular season at the Firehawk Invitational Friday morning.

Out of the 8 teams, the Men's team was able to finish in 5th place overall. Sophomore Dennis Kipruto led the way again for the men, coming in 4th place in the 8k event with a time of 26:00.79. The other Running Eagles ran in the 69-man field, Elie Penitzka landed in 13th place with a time of 26:52.69, while Abedelemejid Kerebo was right behind him in 17th place with a time of 27:13.65. The next runner for the men to cross the finish line was Junior Omar Hernandez-Santos in 42nd place with a time of 29:28.02.  The final runner of the morning was Mitchell Bruns who finished in 57th place with a time of 33:58.47.

On the women's side, five runners competed, finishing the race as a team in 6th place out of the seven teams in attendance. Emeline Delaville led the way once again with a time of 23:54.29 for the Running Eagles in their first 6k event of the season finishing in 10th place. Kyja Williams trailed, finishing in 22nd place with a time of 25:20.05. Other runners included Cynthia Jeptoo in 31st place with a time of 26:42.93, Najah Gibson in 53rd with a time of 31:57.63, and Hannah Burner in 55th with a time of 32:37.49.

"It was the first 6K for the women's team and ran a personal best. Showing they are ready to tackle that distance at the conference." Assistant Coach Tosha Sumner then continued, "Another solid meet for the men's team and they continue to show consistency, even without one of the top runners, as we head toward conference."

The Running Eagles next compete at the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships in Oakville, Ala. on Saturday, November 4.
