NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Life University men's and women's swim team competed in their first road meet against the Wolf Pack of Loyola University New Orleans this Saturday afternoon. 

The meet kicked off early for the men's team, as Bence Dort, Bence Meresz, Rasmus Peterson, and Anton Smal took first place in the 200 yard medley relay (1:38.18). The race was close at the end with the men only winning by a second against the Wolf Pack. 

Once again, the Dort brothers had a phenomenal weekend with Mate Dort in the 500 yard freestyle breaking a new school record with a time of 4:37.07.  Bence Dort also broke a new school record in the 200 yard backstroke. 

Overall, the men won eleven events out of the 14 races with first place wins from Nikolas Beeney in the 1000 yard freestyle, Bence Merész in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, Rasmus Petersen in the 100 and 200 yard fly, Mate Dort in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle and the 400 yard IM, and Bence Dort in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke. 

Overall, the women won three out of the 13 events with first place wins from Dora Reizinger in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.8. Megan Cronje was able to claim two first place wins in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke.

Peterson, Beeney, Merész, and Anton Smal all made B cuts for the men's team and Cronje, Reizinger, Kyleigh Shonk, and Nathalia Bento also made B cuts for the women's team.  

"It was a great meet.  We swam really well against some great competition."  Head Coach Tom Keer said. 

Up next, the Running Eagles travel to Sewanee, Tenn. to take on the Sewanee Tigers.
