Running Eagles Dominate Queens

MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's rugby returned home with a complete dismantling of Queens 63-10.
The match began with an early scare as it was the Queens from the University of Charlotte scoring first in with a kick in 3rd minute. After that, the Running Eagles shared the ball with scores from four different participants. Scoring first was Ishma-eel Safodien shared as the senior got the ball rolling in the 5th minute with a try before again breaking free for a try in the 8th miute. Adam Chadwick tallied the next score in the 13th minute before again the Running Eagles broke through in the 21st and 31st with tries from Safodien and Gabriel Michnya. The scoring then slowed before the half as Bradley Crane tallied the final score of the half, 42-10.
The Running Eagles held the Queens scoreless in the second half as Chadwick, Crane and Jordan Vassel closed out the contest with a try each, 63-10.
Director of Men's Rugby, Blake Bradford shared his thoughts on the performance, stating, "It was a great day for the Life U Rugby program as all the teams got the opportunity to compete. We are happy with three big wins for our men's teams and as always I am very happy with the effort. Despite the positive results, there are still some good lessons for us to take away from the game and we look forward to getting back to work. We have a massive challenge ahead of us and we will need to be at our best."
Following the undergrad game against Queens, the JV program faced off against the University of Charlotte's reserves squad, also winning with a score of 62-0. The try scorers for the reserves program were; Ellis Davis (3), Kade Cunningham, Quinn Vorster, Aaron Faison, Bauti Araujo, Kenwyn McComie, Brayden Brock, and Peyton Hayes. Quinn Vorster was successful on five conversions while Kade Cunningham made one.
The Running Eagles will next face Army, traveling to West Point, New York this upcoming Saturday, October 28th.
