MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University club rugby team traveled to Chattanooga over the weekend,  earning a win over Tennessee Elite 53-15.

The match began with the Running Eagles scoring the ball in the 11th minute with Tevita Mapa reaching the try area Sean Lentsch added to the scoring less than ten minutes later before Chulumakco Mngxaso scored an additional try in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute Tommy Morrissey broke free for a try and Jake Glaser tallied the final score of the half scoring again in the 32nd minute. The scoring barrage slowed in the second half as Morrissey, Matt Reed, and David Rogers tallied the final scores of the contest, 54-15.

The Running Eagles had two participants attempt conversions as Matias Corrado and Tommy Morrisey combined for 7/8.

Assistant Head Coach Benny Mateialona shared his thoughts on the performance, stating, "We came away with a good win on the road, but we know we will need to nail our detail and roles better next weekend as we move on into the playoffs. A big positive on the day was the opportunity to see some of the guys play who haven't been playing as many minutes in the season while also giving some guys a rest."

The Running Eagles now return home, hosting the ARP Semifinal this Saturday, October 28th. The Club Team will host Old Blue RFC from New York. A kickoff time has yet to be decided. With a win, the Running Eagles host the ARP Final on November 11th.
