Central Washington, WA. — The Life University women's rugby team continued their stellar start to the season over the weekend with a commanding 41-5 win over Central Washington.

Led by a handful of scorers as Madison Doyle, Adrionna Duncan, Nina Mason, Eilidh MacGilvray, Emma 'AJ' Haughey, Sarah Barsoum, and Elena DeVarenne all tallied tries, the Running Eagles cruised to a West-Coast win.

Nina Mason successfully recorded three conversions on the day.

Head coach Ryszard Chadwick shared his thoughts on the weekend postgame, saying, "The team showed incredible determination and resilience in today's game against Central Washington University. We knew this would be a tough challenge after last week's match against Penn State, but the players rose to the occasion. I'm happy with how all 23 players performed today. Nina Mason's was a standout with her game management closes oh followed by Alie English & AJ."

He then provided insight on team maintenance and traveling, stating, "We had a shorter training week, which allowed us to rest and fine-tune our game plan. The players responded well to the travel and despite a slow warmup, they gave it their all. In the first half, we were leading 10-5 but made a few errors that allowed CWU back into the game. However, in the second half, our bench players stepped up, and we were able to create some distance between the teams. Overall, I'm very pleased with how we managed the game and excelled in various areas. This victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team. We will continue to build on this momentum as we progress through the season."

With another convincing win to start the season, the Running Eagles continue to look ahead, traveling to St. Charles, MO to face longstanding rival Lindenwood on October 21st.
