MARIETTA, Ga. --- The number one ranked Life University women's wrestling team continued the beginning of their season, taking control to secure a quick 28-8 dual victory over University of Albera and No. 18 Hastings College in the Life U Duals play Friday afternoon.

The first dual started with a victory for Ariana Martinez against a 116 pounder Alberta Panda, to start the competition with the Running Eagles leading 4-0. The bouts at 123 lbs. ended quickly, Anna Krejsa securing a 10-0 win by tech fall, while Forfeits at 130 lbs. and 136 lbs. gave the Running Eagles a lead they would not relinquish.  

The 143 lbs. bout against saw a victory for Alberta to see the score at 18-5 in favor of Life U into the final three matches. Latifah McBryde pushed the Running Eagles even further with a win by tech fall and Margaret Graham pinning her opponent in two minutes and eight seconds bringing the score to 28-5. A hard-fought loss at the end in the 191 lbs class, but it was not enough for the Alberta Pandas to come back from a 28-8 deficit. 

The second dual started with a double forfeit at 101 lbs. and then Life U forfeited allowing Hastings to start 5-0.  Another victory for Martinez (116 lbs), Krejsa (123 lbs) , and Sarver (130 lbs) pinning all of their opponents with Sarver winning by fall in 1:27.  

The 136 lbs. bout, Riley Dalrymple secured a 12-2 win by tech fall in 1:45, but in the 143 lbs. class falling brought the score to 19-9. McBryde won by fall in 1:36 and Graham won by tech fall 13-2. 

Madeline Welch pulled off a tough, 8-2 decision to allow the Running Eagles to win 31-12. 

The Running Eagles wrestle again today in the Eagle Madness Open which started at 9 am.
