Men's Rugby Bounce Back to Secure 34-22 Victory Over Rival, Lindenwood

MARIETTA, Ga. --- Despite a slow start to the game, the Life University men's rugby team bounced back with a massive second half to down conference rival, Lindenwood by a score of 34-22 Thursday afternoon at Lupo Family Field.
It was a slow start to the game for the Running Eagles, early mistakes seeing them in a 17-0 hole within the first 10 minutes. In the midway point of the first half, a penalty by the Lions while Life U was in the attacking 22 set
Bradley Crane up with a penalty kick to see the Running Eagles make it onto the scoreboard, 17-3. In the 27th minute, another Lindenwood try put the Running Eagles in a very tough position. With a chance for the game to get out of hand in the final minute, the Life u defense came up with a huge try line stop to see the teams go into the break 22-3.Â
It did not take long into the second half for Life u to finally dot down its first try, Dario Porta Sancchez bulldozing his way in for a try to cut the deficit to 22-8 eight minutes into the period. Another Life U try came just four minutes later,
Adam Chadwick dotting down the score which was followed with a Crane conversion to see the the game at one score, 22-15. It worked so well once that the same formula added the next score of the game, Chadwick again finding his way into the try area in the 62nd minute and Crane converting to tie the game up at 22-22.Â
The Running Eagles' momentum continued snow balling through the remainder of the game,
Seth Kramlich getting in on the scoring n the 67th minute for the first Life U lead of the game, 29-22. In the final minutes of the game,
Gabriel Michnya tapped down a try of his own to put a ribbon on the game, Life U pulling off the momentous come back, 34-22.
The Running Eagles next compete on the road at Arkansas State, a game to be played on March 11th at 1 PM.
