Marrero, La. ---- The Life University club rugby team fought hard in the second half, but were never able to bridge the gap, losing on the road, 48-19, at NOLA Saturday afternoon.

Life U was down 31-12 at half, but started the 2nd half scoring first. Shortly after, NOLA scored, and finished the game with a try to make the final score 48-19.

The Running Eagles were led by Tabonga Ngonyamo who had two tries, in the 13' minute and 43'. James Hoffman helped put one up on the board to continue the battle in the 31'. Returner, Matias Corrado had two out of the three conversions on the day.

Coach Mateialona, after the loss, "We played a really tough NOLA team that took all their opportunities. We put ourselves under pressure with poor discipline and some costly mistakes, and you can't do that against a quality side like NOLA. There were some valuable lessons for our young team around managing the game and maintaining work rate and physicality for 80 minutes. We will take those lessons this week and look to put out a performance we can be proud of. As always we appreciate the hospitality and contest from NOLA, and look forward to the return fixture against them."

The Running Eagles will take on the USA Rugby Academy in their next match Saturday, September 23rd at 1pm at Lupo Family Field.
