MARIETTA, Ga. --- The Life University men's club rugby team dominated their home opener, tabbing scores early and often as they raced out to an early lead and never looked back to defeat the USA Rugby Academy 40-14 to open their home slate today at Lupo Family Field.

The Running Eagles set the pace of the game early, opening the game with an early try before five minutes had even passed. They then failed the conversion but continued to build on the lead with another try to earn a 12-0 lead less than midway through the first half (after the successful conversion). The score in the 15th minute was from Sean Daniel, catching the lineup before getting push into the zone for a try. Veteran Harley Davidson bullied his way through to score the final try of the half as the Running Eagles cruised to a halftime lead of 26-7 after a successful conversion from Matias Corrado.

In the second half, Life U again scored relatively quick,  finding the try area in the 49th minute as Corrado powered in for a try to see the score 31-7. After another successful conversion, the USA academy tallied a score and conversion in the 58th minute before the Running Eagles closed the contest with one last try and conversion in the 62nd minute.

Individually, Matias Corrado contributed 15 of Life U's 40 points in the dominant win.

Up next, the men's rugby team will next play Tennessee Elite Rugby at Lupo Family Field next weekend in an exciting nighttime showdown.
