Running Eagles Cruise through AAC Duals

CLEVELAND, Ga. --- The No. 2 Life University men's wrestling team competed at the AAC Duals over the weekend, finishing with a perfect 5-0 record on the day after a lot of forfeits.
To begin things against Pikeville, Life U earned wins in the first four matches by forfeit. The first weight class to actually wrestle came at 149 lbs as Avant Stepherson picked up a win via fall. Tre Morrisette then picked up a win via tech fall at 174 before Cohle Feliciano wrapped up the 59-0 victory with a pin against Pikeville's heavyweight.
Against St. Andrews, Brandon Orum got things going with a 17-2 tech fall over his foe. After the TF, Kaden Ramos earned a quick pin at 133 lbs, getting the best of his opponent in just over a minute. Josh Denson kept things going for Life U with another dominant appearance, a 3-minute pin. A tech fall victory at 149 lbs was followed by a Alexander Couto pin.
The rest of the match continued fully in the Running Eagles favor, Steven Villalobos returning to the mat to earn the team's quickest pin of the at the beginning of the first period, just 30 seconds in. Consecutive tech falls followed at 174 lbs. and 184 before a forfeit and final Cohle Feliciano pin saw the Running Eagles crush St. Andrews 56-0.
In Life U's final match of the day, the Running Eagles faced off against Montreat. Beginning in the first two weight classes, both Orum and Ramos both earned pins before a forfeit at 141 lbs moved the team score to 18-0. The Running Eagles then lost their only bout of the day at 141 lbs before Alexander Couto got things back on track with a 17-0 tech fall. At 165 lbs., Stephen Villalobos put in work, downing his adversary in just 1:56 with a 19-4 tech fall. Two more tech falls and another Cohle Feliciano pin ended the day with a 50-3 win.
The Running Eagles now prepare for another AAC Dual when they travel this next weekend, February 2nd, to face Southeastern in Lakeland, Fla.
