MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's club rugby team hosted Mystic River in a thrilling game on Lupo Family Field on Saturday afternoon. After a hard fought battle the Running Eagles fell short to Mystic River, 21-25. 

Mystic River took an early 3-0 lead with a penalty kick in the 10th minute. In a tough battle on Saturday afternoon the Running Eagles were able to record their first try in the 18th minute through Dario Porta Sanchez, putting the Running Eagles in a 5-3 lead. 

Life U extended their lead as Tabonga Ngonyamo scored a penalty kick in the 23rd minute, making the score 8-3. In the 29th minute Mystic River came back and took the lead once again after a try and a successful conversion. Ten minutes later Mystic River received a penalty kick extending their lead 13-8. In the 40th minute Life U received a penalty kick in which Ngonyamo successfully kicked the ball through the goalposts to go into halftime with the score of 11-13. 

Mystic River started off the second half strong by scoring a try in the 42nd minute. Shortly after, in the 43rd minute, the visitors scored a penalty kick making the score 20-11. In the 53rd minute Mystic River scored another try extending their lead 25-11. The Running Eagles were not done yet, they kept fighting. Jeron Pantor came Running down on the right side of the field, scoring a try to keep Life U in the game. After a successful conversion kick by Porta Sanchez the score was 18-25. 

The Running Eagles kept pushing down Mystic River's defense and received a penalty kick in the 65th minute, in which Porta Sanchez showed up again. The two teams kept battling until the last minute. The Running Eagles were close to the try line but fell short as the time ran out. 

The men's club rugby team will return to action for their final match of the regular season on Saturday, October 26, as they travel to Miami FL. to take on Miami Tridents.
