MIAMI, Fla. --- The Life University men's club rugby team returned from Miami with a hard-fought win over the Tridents 41-28.
To start the game, the Running Eagles scored first after a penalty kick from Dario Porta Sanchez. Next, Jared Miller scored after a short run into the zone to increase the score after the conversion to 10-0. The Tridents were next to score, cutting the lead to 10-7 in the first half. Porta Sanchez scored another try and conversion later on in the half, and it was all Life U's way heading to the break with a 10-point 24-14 lead.
In the second half, Karch Hoffman got things started with a try to extend the lead, and from there, the Running Eagles never looked back cruising to a convincing 41-28 win.
Individually, Dario Porta Sanchez was impressive all game, hitting all five of Life U's conversions, nailing two penalty kicks, and scoring a single try. Jared Miller twice, Karch Hoffman once and Julian Roberts also found the try zone in the win.
