Women's Wrestling / 02.17.24
MARIETTA, Ga. --- Three Running Eagles recorded pins as the No. 2 Life University women's wrestling team concluded its dual season with a 32-17 victory over Mid-South foe, #11 Campbellsville Friday night on the road.
The match started with a pair of back-and-forth forfeits at 101 lbs and 109 lbs before the Tigers began with a tech fall victory at 116 lbs. Trailing 9-6, Anna Krejsa recorded the first pin of the night, recapturing the lead 11-9. After that, Riley Dalrymple found herself on the wrong side of a takedown and pin, 14-11. Two consecutive tech falls, Sarah Savidge's at 136 lbs, and Jamilah McBrydes at 143 lbs put Life U back in the lead. McBryde's TF over her foe was impressive, earning a controlled 13-3 tech fall over #2 Emma Walker. Following her older sister, Latifah McBryde tabbed the next pin, only taking 1:21 to grab the five points after a single takedown. A decision at 171 lbs fell in favor of Maggie Graham and Maddy Welch concluded the night with another quick 2-minute pin.
With the win, the Running Eagles claimed their third consecutive Mid-South Conference Regular Season Championship.
Up next, the Running Eagles set their sights on the MSC Tournament next weekend.
