MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U men's lacrosse team was unable to pull past the Wolverines in their first ever home game, eventually falling 12-11 on Saturday night at Lupo Family Field.

After an early goal by Michigan-Dearborn, the Running Eagles were able to keep pace with the Wolverines going into the second half trailing 5-4. Though Life U kept an even scoring field with Michigan-Dearborn and two late goals by Jacob Long and Tristian Berry, the Running Eagles were unable to move past the Wolverines.

Life U held a 50-30 advantage in total shots, but the Wolverines goalies did hold off 15 saves to keep Life U trailing the entire game

On the offensive end, Jacob Long led the way again with five goals, and four of them being scored in the second half. Attacker Mackoy Bodmer put two goals in the back of the net while Brayden Hittle and Josh Bell dished out two assists each.

The game was off to an inauspicious start for Life U, as the Wolverines scored the first goal of the game. Life U was able to get on the board shortly after on Bodmer's first of the night. The Wolverines scored two more times and Hittle was able to put one past the goalie leaving the Running Eagles trailing going into the second quarter

Trailing 3-2 to start the second quarter, Life U put up a quick goal only one-minute into the game. Life U was able to bring the score to 4-4 but the Wolverines took advantage of a one-minute penalty on the Running Eagles and scored one man-up goal to bring the lead 5-4 going into halftime.

Michigan-Dearborn was able to keep the momentum, scoring two goals off the back giving them a 7-4 lead with 12 minutes left in the third quarter. Then, bringing back the motivation, sophomore Hampton Sanders netted a goal on an assist from Bell to bring it back to a 7-5 trail. Michigan-Dearborn was able to score two more before Life U went on a 3-0 run with two of those goals coming from Long bringing the score closer trailing 9-8 going into the last 15-minutes.

However, it was a battle to the end for both teams with the Wolverines pulling away by three with five minutes left in the game.  Long and Berry were able to put up two last minute goals but it was not enough to secure the win.
