MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's rugby resumed their 2023-24 season with a thrilling second half surge to take down their long-standing rival Lindenwood, 32-20.

The match began with scores both ways as the Running Eagles were trailing 10-7 after 20 minutes of play. The Running Eagles then took the lead after a Logan Ballinger try, 12-10. Lindenwood then scored eight unanswered before the Running Eagles responded with 20 unanswered in the final 30 minutes of play to pull away in the 32-20 win.

Director of Men's Rugby, Blake Bradford shared his thoughts on the performance, stating, "We are really pleased with the efforts of our men, especially the second half performance. Lindenwood is a big rival and as a group we committed early in the week to putting out a performance we can be proud of." He then continued, "I thought we handled the windy conditions well and adapted well to the pressure Lindenwood put on us. Throughout the game there were glimpses of the team we can be when we are at our best, and we look forward to building on today's performance and result."

The try scorers for Life U were; Karch Hoffman, Logan Ballinger, Shaun Matthysen (2), and Philani Simamane. Bradley Crane and Nahuel Wingord converted three of their five combined kicks.

The Running Eagles remain at home facing Arkansas State next weekend at Lupo Family Field.
