PRADO, UT. — The Life University women's rugby team traveled to BYU over the weekend completing the regular season with a competitive 34-19 win on the road.
The Running Eagles saw Madison Doyle, Matilda Kocaj, and Lissa Salisbury all reaching the try zone once while Hattie Greenwood tabbed two tries. Nina Mason continued the kicking duties with two try conversion on the windy day.
Head coach Ryszard Chadwick shared his thoughts postgame, stating, "Last week's victory was not just a game won but a testament to our emotional resilience. It's a natural course in sports, as in life, to experience a dip in performance following such a high. We were able to giving valuable minutes to a number of players, building depth and match fitness as we pivot towards the semifinals. While we clinched the win against BYU 34-19, it wasn't up to the mark we set for ourselves. BYU challenged us, pinpointing areas that require our attention and improvement—this insight is invaluable as we tighten our resolve. Achieving the checkpoint of going unbeaten in the Spring Regular Season has been massive, not just in record but in the growth it signifies. It's a reminder that victories are not always about the scoreboard but about the lessons learned and the character built. As we fix our sights on the challenges ahead, we carry forward the intensity, dedication, and unity that got us here. Our journey is far from over; it's just another step on relentless pursuit of excellence.
Up next, the Running Eagles will host the D1 Elite Semifinal against against Central Washington this upcoming weekend, Saturday, March 30th. Kickoff at Lupo Family Field is set for 7 pm est. The match will be streamed live on FloRugby.
