MARIETTA, Ga. --- The Life University men's club rugby team returned from White Plains with a tough 37-27 loss over the weekend in New York. The Running Eagles faced tough travel conditions and murky weather in the defeat.
To start the game, the Running Eagles scored in the fourth minute as Karch Hoffman opened with 7-0 lead after Dario Porta Sanchez's conversion. Other scorers in the first half included Sanchez's try and conversion in the 14th minute. Porta Sanchez then scored a penalty kick conversion in the 35th minute.
In the second half, Ross Deacon scored a try in the 57th minute while Porta Sanchez tabbed the final score in the 65th minute. .
Individually, Dario Porta Sanchez converted four Life U conversions, including one penalty kick, and scored two tries.
Up next, the club rugby team returns home to play Charlotte Rugby Club at Lupo Family Field next weekend in a 7pm nighttime showdown.
