MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's rugby team continued its strong fall form Saturday afternoon at Lupo Family Field, earning a decisive win over Mount St. Mary's in D1A play.
The Running Eagles set the tone early with a fast-paced opening stretch. Leo Venables struck twice within the first 25 minutes, while Adam Chadwick and Jordan Vassel each added tries to build early momentum. Shaun Matthysen and Tristan Hubsch then extended the lead before halftime.
The highlight of the half came just before the break, when Bautista Araujo broke through the Mount defense and sprinted the length of the field for an impressive solo try.
The attack stayed consistent in the second period as Kade Cunningham and Aden Beatty added tries before Jonty Lee capped the scoring in the closing minutes. Lee also led the way from the tee, converting nine times to guide the Running Eagles' efficient offensive performance.
Mount St. Mary's found the scoreboard with tries from Name Withheld and Keegan Garcia, but the visitors struggled to slow Life U's tempo and physicality throughout the match.
