Women's Lacrosse Dominates Tennessee Wesleyan in First Win of the Season

MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University women's lacrosse team dominated the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan early Tuesday afternoon to pick up its first win of the 2025 season. The Running Eagles buried the visitors early, scoring the first eight goals of the contest. 

Life U opened the contest hot, scoring within the first minute of play. Four different Running Eagles got involved in the scoring as the team proceeded to go on an 8-0 run with Tennessee Wesleyan finally scoring its first with just 02:55 left to play in the period. By the time the first period came to a close, Life U already neared double-digit goals, leading 9-2.

The second period showed more of the same, with Lindsey Bowbliss, Hannah Leon and Lexi Santiago all completing hat tricks in the period. The visiting Bulldogs showed no signs of slowing down the Life U offense, as the home squad poured in five more goals to take a commanding 14-4 lead into the break.

The Life U defense turned up the intensity in the second half, allowing zero goals in the final two periods of play. The offensive onslaught at Lupo Family Field continued as the Running Eagles posted 23 total goals, finishing the contest with a 23-4 win.

Up next, Life U travels to take on #1 Reinhardt on Thursday, February 27. 

TURNING POINT:
--Life U opened the contest on a roll, scoring the first eight goals of the contest.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--Hannah Leon and Lindsey Bowbliss tied for the team lead in points with seven.
--Leon led the team with five goals while Bowbliss led the team with three assists.
--Lexi Santiago led the team with four caused turnovers and four ground balls.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Life U out shot the visitors 38-12.
--Ashley Hammel made four saves, playing all 60 minutes in goal.
