NEED TO KNOW:
Score: Life U 47, Miami Tridents 7

MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's rugby team dominated the Tridents of Miami late Saturday night. The Running Eagles blanked the visitors in the first half on the way to a 47-7 home victory.

Gabe Michnya scored the first try of the game in the 12th minute, with Hugh O'Kennedy knocking through the conversion kick to give the Running Eagles an early 7-0 lead.

Michnya was not done there, scoring another try eight minutes later. Reading the play perfectly, the veteran intercepted a pass from the Trident's and scored an easy second try. O'Kennedy once again made the conversion kick as Life U claimed a 14-0 lead.

The scoring continued off a lineout for the Running Eagles near the Miami tryline. The lineout turned into a maul try as Life U captain Jared Miller was driven across the line.

Life U added one final try in the half in the 37th minute after a pick through from Karch Hoffman. After a pair of loose balls, Hoffman took advantage of an unorganized Trident defense to convert the try.

O'Kennedy went 3/4 on conversion kicks in the half as the Running Eagles carried a 26-0 lead into the break.

Five minutes out of the break, Odin Ruijgerok scored an impressive try, flattening three Tridents on the way to the score. Michnya nearly scored at the beginning of the play after gathering an attempted kick pass from the Tridents but was tracked down from behind.

Ishma-Eel Safodien added a try in the 59th minute and Matthew Carrion capped off the scoring in the final seconds with one final try.

The Tridents added one try in the 67th minute but Life U took home the 47-7 victory.
